Questions
What is the minimum wage in Ireland in 2026?
Since 1 January 2026 it is €14.15 an hour for most workers aged 20 and over (Citizens Information, page dated 9 October 2026). Lower rates apply to some younger workers. Budget 2027 announced €14.94 an hour from 1 January 2027, which needs legislation.
How are these figures worked out?
Hourly pay x 39 hours x 52 weeks gives the yearly pay. Income tax, USC and PRSI come from the same 2026 maths as the take-home pay calculator. Open any rate to change the hours.
Do these include the 2027 changes?
No. They are 2026 figures. Budget 2027 changes start on 1 January 2027 and still need to pass into law.
Figures use the 2026 rates from official pages (Revenue: tax rates, bands and credits, Revenue: USC rates, Citizens Information: PRSI rates, Citizens Information: minimum wage), last checked 25 October 2026. Employee PRSI is 4.2% until 30 September and 4.35% from 1 October, so the yearly figure uses a blend. Budget 2027 changes start on 1 January 2027 and are not included.
